"Providing the ultimate in care for your best friend"
Our Goal ![]()
Our goal at Dogtopia is for each dog to have as much
fun, love, and exercise as they can while in our care, while
enjoying a safe and positive environment. It is also our goal
for you, the owner, to know your pup is getting the best care
possible while also getting back a well-behaved, healthy,
happy pup.
Dogtopia is also here to help you with any questions
or concerns you may have about caring for your pup.
We offer training, as well as consultations about canine
wellness such as diet, exercise, and nutrition.
Through our several affiliations with local vets,
behaviorists, groomers, and nutritionists, we strive to
offer the most convenient, professional and comprehensive
care available.
Our greatest hope is that Dogtopia can help to maintain,
enhance and prolong the rewarding, enriched relationship
you have with your special pup.
Why have your pup in Doggie Daycare? ![]()
The following tip has been adapted from the article, The Many Benefits of Exercise and Play from Your Dog newsletter (published by Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine):
Daily exercise sessions can greatly benefit your dog.
Exercise needs vary depending on the breed, age and individual traits of the dog. But it's a good idea to play catch, Frisbee or other games, and exercise your dog for at least 30-minutes each day.
* Sufficient exercise helps reduce or eliminate common behaviors such as digging, excessive barking, chewing and hyperactivity. Dogs need physical and mental stimulation each day.
* Exercise helps prevent boredom and channels the dog's energy in a productive, acceptable direction.
* Exercise helps keep pets healthy, agile and limber.
* It reduces the incidence of digestive problems and constipation.
* It helps prevent depression.
* It's a good way to help a timid or fearful dog build confidence and trust.
* Exercise promotes healthy rest. A well-exercised dog will be sleepy instead of restless when it's time to relax or go to bed.
* And exercise is key to weight control.
It gives a dog the chance to just be a dog. In many ways, especially around the house, we expect dogs to be like little people, and to behave accordingly. But sometimes it's good to let them cut loose and go a little crazy. They need to sniff, run, roll around, bark, wrestle, be silly, and do the things that dogs do.
It relieves feelings of guilt. Seeing your dog lay around the house all day with nothing to do makes a lot of people feel guilty. And it should! Giving your dog an hour of real mental stimulation and exercise, not just a walk around the block, can do wonders for those feelings.

PLAYGROUPS
Playgroups are Dogtopia's version of a doggie daycare.
Your pup is picked up in the morning between 9 and
10:30AM. He or she is taken to a 22,000 sq. ft. fenced-in doggie
wonderland. Half of the area is grass, the other half wooded with
plenty of nooks and valleys to explore. We keep our playgroups
relatively small compared to other daycare facilities, this way we
can closely supervise each dog and make sure everyone gets lots of
individual attention, love and praise. Pups can even receive bonus
"Points" for good behavior!
During the day, pups are encouraged to interact and play
with one another along with lots of games and toys. Fresh
spring water is available at all times.
If you would like, we will also reinforce the basic
commands, such as sit, stay, heel, etc. If there is a specific
command you would like us to work on with your pup,
just let us know! We want to work together with you and
help in any way we can, so if your pup has a specific
need, just ask.

At the end of the day, your happy, tired pup is taken home
(usually between 12:30 and 1:30PM).
Playgroups are held Monday, Tues, Wed, Fri.
Cost: $30/day
or
$26/day for monthly pass
(Unlimited visits) Good for 30 days

Puppy Playgroups
The puppy playgroups are the same as the regular playgroups,
except that puppies are kept in an outdoor or indoor enclosure
(depending on the weather) which is smaller and "puppy
proof". Little pups are closely supervised and encouraged to
play and socialize with other pups their own age and size.
The first 12 weeks of a pups life is called the "socialization"phase.
This is a critical time for them to learn and become socialized with
other pups.
Playgroups are a fantastic way to get your pup used to
other dogs. They help to build confidence and teach vital doggie
social skills. We only allow 5 pups per playgroup and everything
is POSITIVE, POSITIVE, POSITIVE!! Once the pups are older
and more socially "skilled" they can then join the "big dog"
playgroups.
Like the regular playgroups, if you would like us to work
on certain commands, let us know. It's best to start teaching
pups early, in fact if you train pups at an early age,
(before 6 months) they may actually grow up to be smarter and
in the future they may learn faster than if you started training at an
older age. They learn so fast when they are young, it's great to
start them off early with good habits!
*Prices and times for puppy playgroups are the
same as the regular playgroups*
